View Full Version : OT, Dymo label maker

Remember those old hand squeeze Dymo label makers that used the plastic tape? The letters were raised in white on the tape that came in various colors.

Anybody know if the tape is still available. Inquiries at places like Office Depot only get me blank stares from clerks who may be too young to know about these.

Thanks for the replies....

Indirectly, you answered my question.

I put an ad on CL wanting to buy one of the old chrome models. I didn't know the model number until I searched ebay. It's a #1570.

Using that model number I went to the Dymo site to check for tapes. Using several combinations of "1570" and "tape", the answer always came back "no results".

So, apparently, the answer to my question is NO, the tapes are no longer available from Dymo.

I purchased some tape at WalMart a couple years ago. Had to buy a multi-color pack. Haven't looked lately. It's a little different tape than the old plastic stuff but it works in my squeezer.

i just took a look at ebay ..and one machine says 1500 series ..so maybe 1500 series tape is what you should be typing in.

I'm sure they just use the normal 6,9 or 12mm tape that comes in the plastic holder that is still available.

The tape is still made as of 4 years back. The metal stuff is used on plastic injection molding machines and the dies. Specifically, in the die as a date code stamp for the plastic. The one at the old place was reverse so that it would look right in the plastic. They would punch the letters in the tape (this stuff was an aluminum foil but thicker) and stick it on the die.

So, you might try the plastic suppliers.
