Anyone tried to change spark plugs in a Ford F 150? Backyard mechanics move over.

Yeah, I changed the plugs in my 1975 F150.
It was pretty easy.
Move over where?

I had a 1990 with the six that unscrewed the plugs itself.

Thought about it until I realized I would have to lay across the radiator to even be able to reach the ones in the back. Decided paying my mechanic was a better option. BTW - The Ford shop manual for a 2001 says the job should take 1.5 hours.

I feel your pain. I'm midway through swapping an '05 4.6l romeo into a '98 4.6l windsor. Pulled the plugs for the compression and leak down tests though.:p

First set is the toughest. Don't forget to replace the spark plug boots. I always use double platinum plugs. Get a nice thick pad to protect your ribs and belly. The back 2 on the pass side are the worst...........

best of luck, TC
