I have an old (50's?) B&D 8" grinder that has some missing and broken parts. I'm posting photos in hope someone can help out with finding a replacement for the part thats spring loaded in the armature shaft and rubs on rings screwed into the rt end frame there are 2 wires attached to the rings . Anyone know what its function is?

This is on a 3/4hp cap start motor.

I'd guess it's the start winding centrifugal switch, seeing that it is a cap start motor. The weights, maybe? No idea where to get parts. I usually try the WW Grainger "spare parts" division for obscure stuff like that. That might be a tough one though.
