A bases for a good fisrt cannon project? I would think it would be cute on a tiny carriage.

$30!!. Crap, I could make one in the next 20 minutes. That's 5 bucks of material and almost $90 per hour. Anyone want one? http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif

Makes my idea of a cannon that fires a bb sound even better if that lil thing sells for $30.

Evan,

that is what Ebay is all about. I have sold everything I have made and posted. Sometimes I am amazed.

I reinvest the money into the shop. My toys are growing.

Ya, looks like a great way to get somebody injured or killed.

Better idea.

Take a chunk of shelby tubing. Thread and make an endcap/breach, mount it on a carriage. Stuff it with plack powder, just a little will do it, stuff it with tissue paper, aim it in a safe direction, light the fuse. Makes a great New Years Toy.

My dad has several of them he made. Fifty caliber mounted on naval carriages made from oak. His barrels were bored from solid stock so he didn't need to make a breach cap, but shelby tubing makes nice barrel stock.
