2011 Workshop Dates

I have finally firmed up the dates for the 2011 Digital Machinist CNC Workshop. It will run June 21-24 and will be back at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, MI. Much will remain the same, but I anticipate more vendors and seminars for our second time around.

We plan to start taking reservations in early December. In the meantime, I’ll start updating some of this forum’s info and hopefully get some of your questions answered.

Have you thought about having the cookout on Thursday evening or Friday at around noon for the benefit of the people that may want to head for home Friday afternoon?

I hope you do the dorm rooms again.

As usual, I’m running behind a bit and don’t have the reservation system set up. Should be able to get to it this week. The price remains unchanged from last year though I have yet to set the cutoff date for the early registration discount.

There were a number of people that missed out on the BBQ because of the timing and I’ll give it some consideration. Moving it up a few hours on Friday should help to allow some more people to make it.

About the dorms; I heard from EMU last week and it sounds like the entire procedure has changed, yet again. Last year the rules and procedures changed almost daily (even though I had a contract) and I’m a little hesitant to go through that again. They are not the only option though and I’m planning on contacting the U of M to see if they have anything to offer. We should be able to work something out, and perhaps we can get things straightened out at EMU.

I edited my first post in this thread to correct my estimate of when we will start taking reservations for next year’s event. We will have everything in place, including the people to answer the phones, in early December. I’ll post a notice at that time, as well as contact all the attendees from last year via email.
