Welp - its no Yagi antenna - more like a dish - and you point it at certain satellites and get a LEGAL signal that does not need to be decoded by anything other than a cheap one time purchase digital receiver, the channels are very limited but they do have PBS:p

Question; has anybody ever tried this stuff out? its a jungle out there and multitudes of choices...

For the Best FTA results you really need a motorized dish, around 1m minimum.
Also the receiving device, LNB, needs to be able to receive circular and linear signals.
This one is considered one of the best.

I have a M.Dish left over from the time when you could get DishNet and Bell Canada scrambled.
When they came up with the scramble proof system, this left alot of sellers of FTA with alot of stock they could not move, so there may be bargains around.
There is, or at least was several sites that if you plugged in your zip code will give you all the FTA sats available to you.
Even Al Jazeera!
Just Google FTA Sats.

Like I say, for FTA, you really need motorized and a really rigid mast or other solid mounting.
Max.
