I just got a new lathe. We unloaded it off the trailer last Thursday and I got it running today. I know this isn't your typical home shop lathe but it is in my home shop. The lathe is a Daewoo Lynx 200A with a 6000 RPM spindle, 6" power chuck, 5C and 16C spindle noses, 12 station tool turret, 950 IPM rapids, tail stock, parts catcher, chip conveyor and a Fanuc 21-T control. This thing is scarey fast at 100% rapid, makes my Haas TL-1 look like it is in ultra slow motion.

Boy that is nice. I'm just waiting for the need to jump to cnc equipment.

Envy is such a nasty emotion:D

I figured something was up when I saw your CL ad last week;) My wife of course "knew" I'd read the TL-1 posting 50 times, and I was getting the eye:(

spkrman15,
I bought it used, it's a 1998 machine.

MickeyD,
This is not the machine out of Utah. I tried to buy that machine but it was sold. The only thing that I didn't like about the Utah machine is it had a Mitsubishi control. The guy that is coming to work for me has been running Fanuc for 25 years. Also my other turning center, Miyano JNC-35, has a Fanuc control. So I thought it would be best to stay with Fanuc. I have a magazine bar feeder on hold that I will pick up in the next week or two. I do a lot of plastic and brass so the machine should run lights out with that. Right now I have a bar puller on it.

lakeside53,
I thought about selling the Haas but decided not too. I had a ton of people call on it, even Vince Selway the owner of Selway machine, the local Haas dealer.
I definitely like the Haas control better than the Fanuc.

I operated one of those years ago at an afterschool job. Nice machine.

Ed,
It has a door interlock safety device that I have not bypassed yet. It will only spin 500 RPM and you can't run any programs with the door open. The coolant is high pressure and from the looks of it when running could also be used for water jet cutting. I don't think I want the door open when the coolant is on.

I just wedged the door interlock and shot some machine porn with my phone of a dry run,

Let me get this straight.
No noise, door closed
No coolant on the floor to mop up
No feed stock, cut, loosen chuck repeat repeat
And it actually makes parts.
What fun is that?
thanks

One or two lathes? Didn't you have one of these for sale on CL last week for $24K?
