A friend sent me a link this morning to an old style blacksmith's shop. Actually he's a artist in iron that uses as much of the old world tools and techniques as possible

Have a good look at his site as there is an awful lot of eye candy for everyone. The line shafting, the tools, machines, and the engine room that powers the whole place are all truly amazing.

Have a good look, you won't be disappointed.

FYI, Joel Sanderson had an article in the September/October, 2010 HSM, “Power through Flat Belts.

Wow! That is some seriously talented artistry.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of his work in HSM.

He has added a bit since I looked at it last. Nice setup.

OSHA might find a few violations tho..

I have been to Joels shop and it is beyond cool!
It is like stepping back 100 yrs.
Joel is not only very talented but is one hell of a nice guy to talk with.
It was a bit un-nerving though to see him come flying out of the field corn on his bicycle in period correct clothing and wearing a side arm.

Only cool if it was a vintage side arm. I'm guessing it was?

What part was unnerving? The bicycle, the corn, or the clothing?

That is some fine old metal working machinery. Gone with them is the art style they produced. How nice this has been preserved.

Maybe surprised is a better word.I just wasn't expecting to see him come sailing out of the field on his bike and the side arm isn't something I see every day but if I have the chance to stop and see him again I will do it without hesitation.
