Please a ref link to the thread on puting the circle of LEDs around the
quill of a mill. I cant come up with the right search terms. :-)
I think we will need 4 of them for the new shop. The IDIOTS that
did the lighting calculation for the new building ought to be strung up.
Will probably need something for the 8 lathes also. :-(

I used a LED circular tent light to and a power supply from a ATT DSL computer modem. Works great.

For those of you in North America (maybe only the US), Autozone sells a circular LED lamp that can be modified to work. I adapted mine to work on my Harbor Freight X2 Mini Mill by opening up the center hole and making a spring clip out of welding wire to keep the 2 halves together around the spindle.

Got it for $10.00.

Now I need to work on a 4.5Volt supply so I can do away with the batteries.

Will post pictures later -

Boy that is some list of things. I found the light but am not sure I want
to build them (need 4) from scratch. Hoping to find something I can
just modify a bit and bolt to a bracket.
But thanks for the link. May have to build one of those "offset centers"
for the lathe tail stock.
