A little routine maintenance tonight and playing around with the tail stock height on the lathe, it looks to be .014" low. Set up was a dead center in head and tail stock, about a foot apart. ( For our EU friends 1 foot = 3 048 hair's breadth ) I determined this by using a ruler between the points. I must have searched the form wrong, As I couldn't find this subject. Questions? How to fix this so the tailstock will still slide? And what does this kind of error introduce to the work?
Thanks,
Ted
