In December I had a small job to do on the Lathe and it was cold outside in the Big welding & machine shop, after I got the job and back in the house where it was warm I got to thinking, at 64 it is time to have a new small machine shop with Heat & A/C in it, First I had to tear down an old storage building and order a small new storage building to turn into a small shop.
so i ordered a 12 & 16 building and I did all the inside my self, and I had to order a new smaller Milling machine and I got it thursday and all set up saturday, so the new small shop is just about done, and here is some pictures,

That's awesome. It's a lot bigger inside that I thought. Your tool boxes are very attractive.

By using my shrewd, sage intellect and cunning knowledge of human nature, I'll venture you were in the Navy. I'll bet you're amazed that anyone could figure that out. We're all pretty sharp here on the HSM.

Chief, Have been following this build and its been fun watching it come together. I think I'm like the others and have been totally impressed with the choice of flooring - who'd-a-thunk! We have a 'discount' building place here - Shreveport, La - that most of the time has some right good buys on flooring. I just dont know if I would've thought to put it in a shop!

Those are indeed some nice tool boxes, how about a little history on them?

I'm right down the road south of you (maybe 150 mi?) and I do believe you are 'greening' up faster there than here, my leaves are just beginning to start and grass isnt even starting to green up (weeds are!) The wife and I like to drive up into the Hot Springs area and 'poke' around, next time we come maybe we could connect and get a cuppa, or....

Chief, Is that a JET 1236P lathe you've got there?
It looks just like mine.
That lathe's been a great little workhorse for me over the years.
My Chinese motor died on me, so I replaced it with a 2 horse Baldor, and VFD setup. Love it.

Hi Bill: the floor was cheap I got all of it for 20 bucks, some one brought back a ton of it to lowe's and another guy bough all of it and he sold me what he could no use for 20 bucks , What a Deal, The top left box I built I think in 1977 when i was stationed on the USS Cook FF-1083, the top right box my Dad built in the 60's the box under them with the 24 draws is a Dental cabnet from the Navy, I call it my over time pay, The box with the Stripes my Dad built when he was in the Navy in 1944 stationed on a little Island called Eniwetok, He was a Chief Carpenters Mate, I not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, it's not a tool box, YET, and yes if You and the Wife get up this way please come by and see us, e-mail me your phone # dgbentz@aol.com
