Now made in China.

I got in some Ridgid tubing benders and flaring tools for a customer today, right on the box -Made in China- so buyer beware :(

Great, another iconic American brand over the fence.

Does this trend mean we'll have to start looking for iconic Chinese brands that we can trust for quality?

:

Reed vice in Erie, china as well.

Drove past a shop (abandoned) in an out of the way corner of
Erie, county. Inquired what it was.

Apparently it was Ridgid's jaw making forge shop, for the pipe wrench's,
sadly farmed out years ago.

Time to go out and find the new old stock in the Mom & Pop hardware stores. That's where I found my last made in the US Vice Grip.

I do that for myself, but for a customer it's just not possible since they need it now.

Worst is they may not accept these which will mean return shipping and a 25% restocking fee out of my pocket.

Well,I'm not going to pay for it,I will make Ridge pay,I don't care if I have to ride them like a rented Mule for a year.

Gotta go take my BP pills now:)

Humm...I fully expect they're Stilsen wrenches to be Chinese made shortly, probably no drop in price though.
