Like it says, I saw a decent looking machine that they describe as "mini" in the Penn tool catalog.......not a Bridgeport, but looks pretty good....weight-wise, height-wise.....price-wise, I don't know about the price.
Looks like it's got the capacity for the things I may want/need to do in the future.
Brand new....that has a nice sound to it.
Any input?
Thanks y'all,
John

Seen that in pictures. Looks about the same basic thing as the Jet JVM-836 with some differences. I think that they are close in class and price.
However, when you compare weight, then I get scared. 1,100 lbs. seems way too light for a rigid machine of that size.
I would give the Jet some serious though. Probably a better machine if for nothing other than the company that stands behind it.
However, I have not seen or used either machine.
I should add that I went down this same road before I just simply dove in and bought a used Bridgeport. I think the Bridgeport was a better buy than either machine. In my opinion. I plan to strip it down to move it into my basement.
