I'm going to make a blind hole deburring tool for chamfering the back side of .250" holes that I can't get to with a countersink. Plan is to make something like this.

I plan on using a piece of hacksaw blade for the triangular cutting blade. The question is, is a good hacksaw blade like a Starrett the same hardness from the teeth to the back? That will have influence on what part of the blade I make the cutter from. Thanks.

I've wondered about those. If you can't get behind to countersink, how
do you "toggle" the bit to get it lined up to pull it back through the hole? Assuming the hole is vertical.

Lew,
Never used one but I would there has to be enough clearance on the back side of the hole to flip the cutter for these to work. So say you want to debur the inside of a pipe, insert the tool and if you can't reach it to flip it over, use the back wall of the tube to rock the cutter over. Now a hole going into a narrow slot could be problematic.
So what do you know about hacksaw blades? :p

I do know which way to have the teeth point. :-)
Some, (I think) are hardened on the teeth edge like some of the bandsaw
blades.

Bimetal blades AFAIK will be HSS welded to a flexable carbon steel back.
Not sure how hard carbon steel blades would be.

probably an m42 tooth welded to a spring steel back like bandsaw blades.
