Well, it looks like I'm going to have a student competing against Errol Groff's student at the Nationals in Kansas City this June. He won the state contest in Kentucky. This is the second year in a row that I've had a student win the state contest.

Way to go Jesse!!!!!

Congrats, it can be a fun competition if you're prepared. I went back in '99 when I was in auto body/refinishing at the local tech school. My teacher hadn't taken someone for 20 years past the state level. We were very unprepared for the national event. That said, I still made it like 5th or 6th nationally. Some of the frame repair stuff I had just never seen before. Going with a little knowledge of whats there will bring your student a better chance of competing well. Good luck and have fun!

I'm hoping so. The student that went last year has been able to give some insight into what to expect.

Please pass to your student my congraduations for a job well done.

Remind him that first runner-up is still a position to be proud of!

Just kidding of course. Best of luck to both our young men.
