While searching for info about stepper motor conversion of a rotary table, I came across a reference to an article in Digital Machinist about doing that exact conversion, however there was no mention of which issue it was in.

I have browsed through the article index at http://www.digitalmachinist.net/articleindex but have not been able to locate it.

A pointer to that info would be appreciated...

Although we have run a few articles on using rotary tables in Digital Machinist, we have yet to do one on a CNC conversion.

I think the article you are looking for ran in the March/April 2005 issue of The Home Shop Machinist, in Roland Friestad’s “Computers in the Shop” column. The title of his article was, “Converting a Rotary Table to CNC.” In this article, Roland adds a stepper motor to a 6” Grizzly rotary table.

Hope this helps you out. If you would like to order a back issue, please call our circulation department at 800-447-7367.
