Last year I purchased a box full of machinist items at a garage sale. In it were hundreds of Go/No go screw gauges. I think I get the general idea as to how they are used however I would like a better understanding of them so figured I would ask. If you have any examples of uses I would be interested to hear them as well. Also how would you go about organizing them.

You screw them into the hole. If the GO gage goes in easily, the hole is not too small. If the NO GO gage goes in 1 thread or less, the hole is not too big. Organizing is simply a matter of having a GO and a NO GO together for each diameter and thread pitch combination. Hopefully you got some handles with the red and green ends to use them with.
