Took this HD movie yesterday with that fancy Macro lens I got. I need to get a nice gitzo tripod that less you get down to ground level.

Do a Google search for spotting scope stands. You can buy the head alone and make your own stand if you prefer. All of the "zoom" heads have a standard 1/4 - 20 thread camera mount.

One guy I know does a bunch of macro video and time lapse. He has some neat videos of ants and insect eggs hatching.

He usually uses a 5D Mark II but he recently got a Canon T3i. Whats neat about the T3i is instead of using the whole sensor for video recording it allows you to "zoom" by using smaller parts of the sensor. At full 10x zoom it just uses the inner most 1920x1080 area of the sensor. My 60D does something like that but only at 640x480. It would be nice if they enabled that function with a firmware update... fat chance on that.

Maybe Magic Lantern might incorporate that.
