Hello-
I purchased a used southbend 9" lathe last week. Its a 9"x54" Toolroom lathe with a single tumbler quick change gear box. Its serial #46727S Catalog # 780R/word code-- "Bedem",built in 1930. It seems in very good shape with the exception that I don't have the self contained drive unit (I do have a 3-step Pully tho) and needs the large gear on the back gear replaced(63 tooth-5/8" bore) and new or replacement bull gear also. Please let me know if you guys want pictures. I would appreciate help in acquiring the two gear parts.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Between me and everyone else, we know everything. Just ask us. What I don't know, everyone else does. ;)

Congratulations on the lathe. Have fun and be safe.

Yes, check Plaza Machinery. Joe has a incredible amount of stuff stashed in his various barns and sheds.

Have you checked out Practical Machinist's South Bend forum? Lots of good reading there.
