View Full Version : Lube on threads in plastic

Repairing a leaking spray head on a watering hose (one of those that looks like a fire hose end), solved the leaking issue (one of the few O-rings was a bit chewed) but noticed the threads, similar to square, had some sort of lubrication on them.
Nearly the entire piece is plastic...I don't know plastics and had just assumed plastic threads mated together didn't require lubrication.

These threads do no sealing and are just there to allow adjustment of the nozzle spray pattern (rotation changing the stream of water between fine mist and straight full flow).
Cold water, if that makes a different.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Need?

Silicone o-ring grease.

Yep, silicone.

I would have said O-ring lube also. Or plumbers grease.
