Apparently not too many want to admit they have a little "shaper"!

I'll admit I have a 7" South Bend, already equipped with the proper vise that works very nicely on small stuff. I don't believe that base goes with that vise. The one shown looks like the proper SB vise, but mine has no base like that. I believe that base is an "add on". The Shaper Table has a hole in it for a stud which extends out the bottom of the center of the vise which allows the vise to pivot 360 degrees and also locks the vise in place.

If anyone has a larger shaper, about 12", I'd be interested in it.

That is a factory South Bend base if you purchased the vise for a milling machine or drill press.

Hell, I'm certainly not ashamed of owning a S/B shaper. My shaper vice is set up exactly the same as firbikrhd1's is. My vice is in a lot better shape than that craigslist one is, But I'd need that vice handle to make it totally original. That is a pretty good price for a S/B vice though. It certainly won't last long at that price.

I have that same vise on my Burke #4.
