I have a 3 ton floor jack model 875.501390. I've had it for at least twenty years and it works ok except that as it gets to the top of it's travel the last little bit of handle stroke doesn't raise the saddle. Any ideas what it might me?

I've thought air but I'm not sure. Maybe low of oil, but why? It will stay up indefinitely even under load so I'm thinking it's not the seals but maybe I'm wrong.

Also, any idea if I can buy replacement parts anywhere; aside from the complete "power unit" for $85. Maybe I'd want to rebuild the power unit, possible?

Thanks for any input.

Sounds like your low on oil. Or........ on some older floor jacks when you reach the end of the ram travel the pump piston bypasses so you don't over load the ram.

I looked up the vendor (875) and it is Florida Pneumatic. They have a website and seem to sell parts.

Personally I think you should check/fill the oil.
