I was able to get my hands on a SINO SDS6-3V DRO for my RF45 clone. I have no experience with any DROs but have heard many good things about them. As the DRO kit is a universal fit I searched to web to find how others had previously performed a similiar install. I had little luck finding info so I decided to just wing it.

I thought I would share my experience as to maybe contribute to the group with some "what to do" or "not do" information.

My main concern was the rigidity of the Z axis scale as this scale is exposed to gear box vibrations. I ended up having to build 3 brackets to make the install work. In the end I think it worked out very well and I am pleased with the install.

I have spent a couple evenings educating myself on all the different math functions the unit can perform. So far I am thrilled with it's features.
