Good morning folks;
Well I got this here Brown & Sharp #510 magnetic chuck 5" X 10" and it don't seem tp have the holding power that it probably once had... Put a small part on it to surface grind, and it is apt to move, or worse yet fly right off the table...Now my question is, are you able to have these chucks recharged, and if so, how about in the HSM shop...Again thanks for the help as always...

I recharged a magnetic base for an indicator with my magneto magnet charger and it worked pretty good. I'm not sure how long it will hold the new charge but it hasn't lost any in a few weeks.

In the 70's, I worked for a Magnetics outfit.
We often got in Magnetic Chucks for remagnitizing.
The only good way we could do it was to disassemble it and remagnetize each individual magnet.
The best thing for Chucks (or any magnet for that matter) is to keep a keeper on them when not being used.
Slap on a piece of about 1/4" CR that covers the Chuck, every night befor going home.
