Hi all.
been hibernating for a bit and was bored so I decided to make these plates instead of buying them. These are for my car.The strut tower top is too light. repeated pot hole impacts cause the tower to mushroom."bulge up". They have been making these plates for a long time to address this issue. Being one to like to do things for myself I decided to make a pair.It was an enjoyable job and as you see I got carried away. Initially I was going to paint them but decided to polish them. They looked nice but need something else so I used my cnc mll to engrave the mini logo to dress it up more.Then...."its a curse"....someone suggested I made caps for the hole in the center soooo...Did that too. No reason except that I can and mainly was bored.Been off work for 2 weeks in the winter will do that to you.Needed to make some special stainless recessed nuts to get full threads also.

Probably like MOST folks. I have a TV in my shop but rarely turn it on. I get more done id I listen to music.

very nice..How do you get that finish(polished) on the metal? I can get part way there using flapper wheels but there must be something more to it to get to the point your parts are at.That is steel right?

Nice parts.
I love the logo!
Can you sell some or is this one of those jobs that you can't make any money on?

I don't want to make them to sell.took several hours but most of that was making a template and deciding what and how I would do it.no real plan.

nice work....

Have you resolved the bottoming out issue so you don't rip these nice plates out of the tops of your strut towers? Do you need dampers with increased damping at the end of stroke or have you considered rubber bump pads?
