I have one or most of one anyway. I've been using it for years I've kind of grown fond of it.
It has a casting number on it of (N189)on the botton lip of the bed. I'm wondering if someone here knows any thing about it or knows where I could go to find out what it means.
Thanks Gene

There's a lot of info on Barnes lathes on the lathes UK site. Does your lathe have the bosses in the legs for the treadles?:D

I am currently making a left spindle bushing for a Barns # 5. Interesting situation as the bushing is threaded to adjust the end play in the spindle as well as holding the shaft alingnment.

Look at Treadleit.net or Treadleit.org I never got a response from their webmaster but I am not very proficient in these matters.

My SIL has the machine that has been handed down through the family.
