far easier just to grab those symbols and paste into here ..than type out three numbers and press the alt key ..it could be done quicker than looking up

you could copy the whole lot and put them in a notepad file on you desktop ..and copy-paste them as well when needed.

like so..when in notepad they will revert to non bold ..non ..huge size .

This would work for me except when I try to save it I get some nonsense about unicode options.

Put it in wordpad instead of notepad.

Thanks Evan, that worked.

I have an old laptop that I spilled a beer on. I had a desktop file of all the letters and numbers for when a key wouldn't work. I never thought to put the symbols there also.

In that case open up the on screen keyboard in Programs>Accessories>Ease of access> On screen keyboard

If using XP it's called "Accessability", IIRC.

Make a link to it on the desktop by dragging the the link to the desktop.

How do you turn-off keyboard short cuts? I totally hate them. My typing skills are not the greatest and I'll be typing along and discover that I'm somewhere off in a total la-la computer land and I haven't a clue how to get back to where I was! I've accidently hit some kepboard shortcut keys and transported to God only knows computer place. Most of the time I have no idea where I am so getting back usually means shutting down and starting over again.

I would dearly love to disable ALL keyboard shortcuts as I never use them and they are more bother than anything else.

You can start by disabling the Windows key. That will turn off many keyboard shortcuts.

Visit this link and use the "Fix it for me" button provided.

I can write an automatic registry entry that will disable all hot keys. What version of Windows are you using?

Thanks for the link. I'm running Windows 98.
