Does anyone have experience with metal spinning on a benchtop lathe like my Grizzly 10 x 22?

I am only interested in small projects (4" - 6" finished) as I understand the forces required go up immensely with the larger items.

The end plates for the combustion chamber of my turbines are spun 316 SS. The material is 0.5mm thick and the OD of the chamber is 100mm. They were done on a 10x22 inch grizzly. The forming tool was 608 ball bearing mounted on an arbor and then clamped in the tool post. The lathe handled it fine.

I spun (span, spinned???) aluminum for a turbine on my 9 x 20" with no problem. As long as you aren't doing it all the time it shouldn't be a problem. It is hard on the bearings though.
