Does any one have a source or lead on toroidal transformers. I am seeking two units around 1000VA each to build a pair of DC servo supplies. Need secondaries to get to about 70 and 100 VAC.

E core stuff is OK as well, just harder to modify than toroids, and I certainly would look at a good surplus source for linear supplies. I can but these new for under $200 it seems, but I remain eternally cheap and hopeful...
Never hurts to ask

Thanks
paul

There is a guy who build them, I believe custom also, although if you get one close it is easy to wind on or take off a few turns.
Antek or his ebay name is jonango.

I have a big transformer from my old mill. Probably good for at least 2kw. 70v out.

Hi Macona
I tried a PM. I would be interested in the transformer.
If you run two servos from one PSU is it sufficient to run two separate banks of filter caps?
Does it help to add a diode to each supply?

thanks

If there is only one secondary then generally 1 appropriately sized bridge and 1 capacitor bank is used?
If you need to add a small overwind for 5v - 24v supply, the turns ratio is around 2t/volt.

Ahh, forgot to reply.

This transformer ran 3 good sized servos.
