gotta be thankful of these little things that turned out just right.

I needed to tilt the head on my mill 90 degrees to drill through some one inch tubing. After tilting the head approximately 90 degrees, I extended the quill and stuck a magnetic level on it. I was turning the bolt blind while keeping the motor of the mill on my shoulder. Quickly eyeballed the level and tighten the four bolts because I was running out of steam.

the plan was to get a piece of 4x4 to put between the head and the table, and raise/lower the table while trying to tram the head to 90 degrees.

before I get the 4x4, I thought I check how far off I was before dialing it in, and this was the result.

It looks like I'm a little off on the lower dial, but that's because of the camera angle. it's actually only off by about .0002"
For one inch deep holes, I'll live with it :p

Well first I looked at the pictures, but not very closely. I was about to get all cranky -"why did the bugger turn his camera sideways?" Then I looked a little closer and read the text. Sorry.

Sure is nice when things work out.

Might want to spend $1 and get a lotto ticket tonight.

Why did you need to tilt the head to drill the tubing? Was the tube too long to fit horizontally?

Poor planning:mad: . It's a long story, but basically it's 14"x78" and the hole needed to be drilled perpendicular to the 14" side.

Nice clean equipment and nice pictures.
Well done on the line-up!

I like the dual gauge, I've not seen one before but that doesn't mean much.

I want to know what that bad ass square type device that you are checking off of? Looks like two pieces bolted together.

it's from StrongHand tools. it's part of their package that goes with the BuildPro fixture table. if i remember correctly, the bottom one is 4x4x8" the top one is 4x4x12". yes they are bolted together. They're not blanchard ground or anything. but straight enough for what I do.
