View Full Version : Tree mill info needed

Working on my mill project got my universal milling attachment (basically a tree 2uv head) One has a bad spindle nose and just switching over the spindle won't work (spindle way too tight in the other head)

So i need to know how exactly to teardown the spindle nose. I see what looks like a retaining pin but how is it removed? drive in? or perhaps a tapered tool in the slot it goes into to push it out?

Help me out fellas I don't want to start pounding on things till I know.

I recommend you contact Tony at lathes.uk as he may have a manual. You should probably look at this web page http://www.lathes.co.uk/bridgeport/page19.html to see if this is like your Tree head.

Another place to check is http://www.mcspt.com/shop/page2415.html

thank you Dr Stan. That is the mill head. I actually have the manual.
However it is not too clear from the pictures how the nose comes apart

I Was hoping someone has had some firsthand experience on this
Mainly on how that pin comes out.

Join the yahoo tree mill group. They have a bunch of info in the files section (and all the manuals), and some guys they have been though what you are doing.
