Hi Everyone,

This is for the car lovers in the crowd.

My wife and I went to Muskegon, Michigan yesterday and attended the "Hot Rod Power Tour". What a sight.

I/we have been to lots of car shows but this one was like a car show on steroids. I would say there were easily 10X as many as most large shows.

Street rods, lots of rat rods, trucks, scratch built cars and trucks.

The power tour started in Detroit on Saturday, headed to Muskegon on Sunday, Chicago today and I don't know where they go from there except that they end up in Texas.

It is kind of a rotating show in that each stop brings out a lot of local enthusiasts with there pride and joys.

So if you are a car lover and the power tour is coming near you, check it out.

It was time well spent. I may post some pics later if there is any interest.

I stopped by at a friends place on the way south a few weeks ago. He runs a nice little 50's style diner in the middle of nowhere in a small farming town. They share the property with some guys that build cars and this was parked outside that day. Not super special but still a pretty nice looking job.

Nice rod, is that a 32 5 window?

Some interesting old vehichles in the background.

Those "Fenderless" rods gotta be a dangerous thing, when the front tires start "Ejecting" pebbles stuck in the tread, up into the windshield or into ones arm.

Looks like you must have stopped in Westwold Evan.
You never know what's going to be parked in the yard there.
If I don't stop, I always drive by real slow, always an interesting eye full.

Yes, that's a '32 5w.
Channeled, no chop.
Looks like a nice place to stop and have lunch!

Is that a 33-34 Ford pannel behind the gas pump?

The power tour was in Champaign-Urbana today. There were a lot of fantastic cars, and a lot of local guys with classic cars cruised around too. Quite a sight.

Yep, it's Westwold. If you stop in at the Hiway 97 Diner say hello to Ray for me. I've known him for many years. They used to live here in Willy's Puddle.

Hey I'll do that Evan.
Too bad I wasn't aware of that or I would have done that about a week and half ago as I was there on the 25th of May, probably awful close to bumping into you from what I can gather.

Heck next time you're through there let me know and I'll buy lunch. It's about an hour from my home.

Here she is. Allen drill press with auto tapping feature.

We had 2 of these in our toolroom and to say that I drilled and/or tapped thousands of holes on one would be an understatement.

It looks like I will have a couple of repairs to start with. The table won't go up and down. The pin has been driven out of the bevel gear. Also, the variable speed sounds kind of rough when I turn the spindle. I bought it with enough in my budget to allow for a few repairs.
