    Replacing drive pulley?

I have a Jet 1024 that I cannot source parts for. It need the back 3 step pulley replaced. I was able to find one that is close but not exact.

I know it will change the speed of the lathe but it should not affect the threading since the threading is not speed dependant.

Just wanted some input on this.

The OD size of each step is, 2.75", 3.5" and 4.25".

    Thanks

Close will be good enough - there is little magic in what the OEM put on.

But... If the ratio change, you may need to fiddle with belt tension more between speed changes.

If you can cobble the drive togther to make it work, step pulleys aren't hard to make.
