I'd try McMaster-Carr.

I have purchased direct and by the e-bay method they describe on the site. If you can use the material in the shape they provide it is a real bargain. Especially for jig plate.

An edit - well I just checked the site and the 0.75" material is no longer for sale. Sorry about that. Worth looking at anyway

I've never dealt with these people, but you might try http://www.machinist-materials.com/

Admiral Metals in Woburn, MA sells cutoffs at their warehouse; I assume they have a website, and they may deal mailorder.

Update: they do. See http://www.admiralmetals.com/metal_distributors.htm

You may want to look into Yarde Metals in Connecticut. No affiliation other than they are my supplier. They have several branches. I see you are in Mississippi. They have a website (www.yarde.com) where you can get information. They have a good catalog, if you can get one. No, you may not have mine. They are my supplier for anything I need (metals). They have a drop zone where you can buy drops,(minimum pricing though), or they will cut to your size. Because it is plate it is manutactured in sizes between 36.5"x96.5" to 60.5x144.5". Thus "small" pieces may be difficult to come by. Since you mentioned aluminum, I'm guessing 6061 series. I do not know how "small" or your specific needs, could you possibly use T-6511 (extruded bar) instead of (T-651) tooling plate? That may be more readily availiabe. Are you looking for TOOLING PLATE or PRECISION CAST TOOLING PLATE? As they are NOT the same.[This message has been edited by ERBenoit (edited 03-05-2004).]

I recently bought some SS from Speedy Metals, and they sent a catalog (which I don't have before me now), which did (IIRC) include aluminum jig plate. They also claim "No order too small/...will cut to suit..", etc. (usual disclaimers/non-affiliation, etc., but I was happy w/my one transaction.

Hmmm.., I just tried www.speedymetals.com (http://www.speedymetals.com) and only got a homepage (Advert.) w/no search options available. (???) But I'd originaly gotten the link I used on this BB.

try http://www.asapsource.com/SHTALUM.html No, affilitation, etc. just a satisfied customer. I have delt with them and they are also a HSM advertiser. They are part machine shop and part metal supplier, so they have all kinds of various sizes available, and have given me a quote the same day using online e-mail. They also have miscellaneous sized pieces and will custom cut for a fee to your sizes. Pricing was reasonable for me because I could pick up in person.
