Hello all, know of any source for a "less than roll" quantity of SS foil tool wrap. The stuff that used to envelope seal steel parts for heat treat to prevent scaling. The supply houses minimum is a 50 ft roll that would last me about 4 lifetimes. I could use about 5 ft.
I was hoping for e-bay for a "by the foot" deal, but no luck.

Travers has some SS tool wrap in sheets, but its as expensive as a roll. Are there any large shops and/or heat treaters in your neck of the woods?

I have a partial roll and would be happy to send a 5' piece or so for postage cost. PM me your mailing address.

Offer holds for others, 5' or so lengths until gone, take what you need, save some for the other guys.

I thought I had better check what I have as it has been a while since I last saw it. I have a roll of 24" wide 0.002" 321 SS. There is a bit more than seven feet total as well as some scraps of useable sizes. Joe has first choice, Andrew is next. That pretty much uses it up.

If anyone else is looking for foil you can also buy individual bags. McMaster-Carr has them in various sizes, their part# 3438K11 is a 2 1/2 x 5" bag for $3.26. They do get pricier in the larger sizes, but if you need just the one...
