I am looking for advise. When I bought the #4 Burke mill it was a box of parts. The gibs on the knee and cross feed were missing. I have machined new gibs from cast iron. They turned out very well. The back side angle is 10 degrees. The dovetail side is 60 degrees They are bolted in place. See attach pictures. The machining resulted in a good initial fit. I can still feel a little slop. Obvoiusly I need to machine a little more off the bottom to tighten the gib into the dove tail. I will have to scrape the dove tail side for a good fit. I am looking for advise on the steps I need to take from this point in the process to get a good final fit. Any wisdom would be greatly apprciated. Thanks, Arlo.
