Visited the Edison site on Wednesday this week. Awsome machinery with some examples I have never seen before.

Errol,
Very cool pictures. Great shots of the shaper's, vertical slotter's and planners. Most of that looks like you could just add some lube, tighten the drive belts and put the equipment to work.

Wow, Errol what a great bunch of photos,, a very interesting collection.

By the size of the hook on that chainfall in the pic with the kids it was a substantialy heavy one.

Love all those pipe railings, nice and neat!!

Great Photos again, thanks for always posting great stuff!

Great pics,Thanks! Greenfield Village is one of my favorite places & has alot on Edison as Henry Ford was his foreman & longtime friend. The older I get the more in awe I am of these great men of that era & how their inventions changed & improved the world. Ford, Firestone, Bell & Edison spent much time in the U.P. together. Just think how life would be today if those four settled on what was & not what could be. Unbelievable!

I am very glad that you all enjoyed the photos. It was a great trip with good friends! Mention of Greenfield Village reminded me that I have photos of the Armington and Syms shop on the NEMES website.

I hope to be able to get behind the "railings" at the Edison but that may be difficult as I was told that NO ONE is allowed behind the railings. We will see, I can be very persistent about getting pictures that I want!! Sort of a Machine Tool Papparazzi.

I know how to get back there, become a volunteer. If I lived closer to GV I would.
