Hey guys,

I thought I would introduce myself to the crew, I hope to become a staple of this forum and provide some entertainment at the very least. My shop is tiny, but I have expanded into some free spaces at the office. I work as a lab technician and we focus on testing building materials. I live in Southern California, which means many distractions away from the shop. My mill is a Rusnok 820 which is being retrofitted to a Diamond horizontal mill at the moment. I am also in the middle of a South Bend 10K rebuild which looks to be a fairly good shape with minimal backlash, good screws, excellent bearings and a lightly used bed. At work I have a well used Logan 820 and the shop has an old Bridgeport. Out in the shed I have a Clausing 8520 mill that was missing the head which I intend to CNC and add a 2.2kw water cooled spindle when I get around to it. As you can see I have much on my plate, but I am slowly chipping away at the projects and trying not to come up with new ones. I will post some pics in the near future in case you are not familiar with anything...

Welcome - sounds like some interesting projects. When you get a chance how about some photos of the Rusnok/Diamond marriage.

Amazingly, it fits directly on the overarm this way. However, I would like to machine an indexing block that will allow me to put the head straight on and allow the head to "nod" as well.

This is an Artisan 6" lathe with a 16" gap bed. These are interesting machines with a 2 TPI double start leadscrew that cuts 224 TPI and has a cone clutch pulley for the drive, as well as a dog clutch for the leadscrew. This particular lathe is in very good condition and was purchased complete minus a motor. I will be mounting the motor on this weekend, so I will get a video of it running as soon as I get a chance.
