I'm sorry I didn't take any "before" pics, but here's the trailer after the right side frame channel was replaced.

When it came in, the right rear corner was bend down about six inches and the frame rail was buckled near the rear spring hanger enough that the tire was scrubbing hard on the frame. When I made the cut near the rear of the frame rail, it snapped outward about four inches, and the rear crossmember moved back about three inches.

I cut the web of the frame rail around the crossmembers so I could trim them back to their original length. I also salvaged the spring hangers. Lots of delicate work with the plasma torch and angle grinder.

It took some serious pulling on the crossmembers to straighten out the bends in the left side frame, but both sides are straight to within a quarter inch now.

The splices were reinforced with pieces of plate.

I really thought at first that we'd end up scrapping the thing, but it turned out pretty well.

The welds are nice. Are those MIG?
