Apparently, some halfwit decided that he wanted to kill himself by crucifixion and tried to nail himself to a cross. It didn't work. http://nypost.com/news/nationalnews/21043.htm

Wonder what the next step would have been if he somehow managed to attach the second hand. You think the inventor of the pogo-stick had the same delusion?

Wonder how far he would have gotten with a power nailer?

"When he realized that he was unable to nail his other hand to the board, he called 911," said Lt. Pierre Boucher, adding it was unclear whether the man was seeking assistance for his injury or looking for help in nailing down his other hand.

Definitely from the shallow end of the gene pool.

Think laterally.
Place three nails on the floor in a marked position, points upright.
Stand cross vertical
Stand if front of cross in the position
Superglue backs of hands to cross.
Fall on nails

Ipso Facto case rests.

Not that it matters any, but I think in actual crucifixions the nails went through the wrists -- the better to support the victim.

So OK, move the nails in closer.

I remember reading a novel by Niven and Pournelle called Oath of Feality which takes place in an Archology (city in a building) that seemed to attract jumpers. The buildings owners placed a maze of fencing on the roof that led to diving board 80 stories up. Hey if you are gonna jump you might as well do it in style

A power nailer would have been faster. He also could have held it between his eyes and nailed his head to the cross. http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif Would have been cheaper for the tax payer.
