Was wondering WHERE I might buy a belt for my EMCO Maximat Mentor 10. I called BlueRidge but haven't heard back yet. Just thought there might be another option in case they don't have them OR if they charge an arm and a leg for one.

Thanks in advance,

The belt is probably an XL series timing belt like other small Emco machines. Look for a number on the belt like 200XL, etc. and do a Google search for XL timing belts. Here's one place (which I haven't used yet):

Measure the width of the belt as you will need it custom slit to that width. I requested a price several weeks ago from a different company and never heard back. You may need to try several to compare prices.

You might also try the Yahoo Emco Super 11 or 8x18lathe groups as some of the Maximat 10 owners may have found other sources for the belts.

added - the number preceding the "XL" should be twice the number of teeth so a 100 tooth belt would be a 200XL.

There might be an automotive camshaft timing belt that will interchange with it.

Emco Maier in Columbus, Ohio now sells replacement parts for manual machines. They are now selling direct to end user. Ask for Greg. He helped me out.
