IIRC, somewhere around this bbs there is a single drawing that shows a bunch of various tapers/sockets and going by a foggy memory, I think one of the points where a taper meets a flat is very, very thin between MT4 and R8, this is assuming you don't want a ton of "stick out" since of course the further "out" you go, the more room the taper has.
I think I've got that drawing somewhere but my own filing system is not that good either so...as an actual piece even just in a catalog listing, let alone in hand, I have not come across one.

Edit: for what its worth, for me, this relates to most previous discussions about what collets fit in a MT 4, how close but not quite for 5C, how tough it can be to find 4C and potential to make adapters to fit other common tapers like R8 etc.

What tooling do intend to use in the MT4 machine? What R8 tooling doesn't require the use of a drawbar to keep it in place?

Rosco-P, et.al.:
A number of Euro machines have a native MT4 spindle which is meant to be used with a drawbar; for example, Deckel (http://www.gizmowizard.com/deckeldapter/deckeldapter_main.htm). As far as I know, there are no commercial sources to buy an R8 adapter at this time. The link above has a drawing if you want to give it a go yourself.

I think that is backwards, He wants it the other way as I read the post.

I made one out of a M4/M3 sleeve by cutting off the tang end and boring to R8. As Russ noted, the tapers almost meet leaving a thin edge, so I added a reinforcing ring.

I bought one from this guy.

Works well. I think he does what Randy suggested above.
