Hi

I am going to a conference in Vegas in September and I will have the 22nd of September free.

I was hoping that I could order a 4" kurt and have it delivered to someone in the Vegas area, out as far as kingman, Bullhead City Pahrump etc as I can hire a car for the day to go and collect.

This may seem strange but shipping to the UK they want $200 pluss duty etc. I can get one in the states for far less than the UK and it is within my spending abroad allowance for no import duty so it adds up for me.

Happy to bring something over from the UK in exchange if it helps or buy lunch.

Just have it shipped to your hotel before you arrive. I have done that a lot when traveling.

I have done this when I can time it, but I am hoping to catch the next enco 20% off which may be too early to ship to hotel. I find this works at the holiday inn type place but not so good on the strip where my conference is.

Try searching for a UPS store or similar. I'm sure they would be able to hold it for a few bucks and there is probably one in walking distance to the hotel.

I know a hooker in Vegas. She would probably hold the vise for you or anything else you might want her to hold!

Thanks for that idea George , didn't realize you could do that, will look into it.

I had some kit delivered to the stratosphere a few months ago, provided you have a room suite booked and paid for they are happy to oblige, don't jump off the tower unless you have plenty of spare underware

Ps if you fly to Mcarron from Heathrow try to go business or at least the economy plus, 10 1/2 hours is hard on your arse, but Greenland and Hudson look fantastic, I had more fun looking out the porthole than in the casino, well sort of!

Thanks for the great idea George all sorted.

What I didn't want to do was order a Kurt and it end up being delivered to a hotel 6 weeks early. I found a UPS store at one of the other hotels that will hold for 6 weeks for me even though sandardtd is only 4weeks. As it turns out it may not be such an issue as Enco are out of stock and on backorder but they should have it in soon and will be shipped to the UPS store.

Must say how helpful Enco were in setting up a customer from the UKs account and helping me sort the on-line account for future trips (our postcode doesn't work in the zip-code box for login). They even honoured the 20% discount code posted here which I think was exceptional for a first order against an e-mail code. top marks so far.

The advantage of taking things back yourself is it avoids duty as you are allowed to bring so much back in duty free.

Thanks again George, great moderation here as well and I enjoy the magazines.

Glad to hear it worked out. Probably better than the Black Forest approach. Have fun in Vegas.

Steve,

If you need a backup, I own The Mail Room in Kingman (UPS store is our competition). We'll be happy to accommodate, plus you get a scenic drive over Hoover Dam, even though you have to look quickly. That new bypass is certainly an express route.
