Greetings,
I'm Jim, the new guy for the moment.

I have an atlas TH-42 (10F). Do the change gears I see available on ebay fit all the atlas lathes or are they specific to the size of machine i.e. 6,9,10,12. A one size fits all would sure work well here.

Gears for the 10 and 12 should be the same. Never heard of a 9. The six inch will use different gears than the 10/12.

Change gears for the Atlas / Craftsman 10" and 12" lathes have a 3/4" bore with two keyways. They are 16 diametral pitch. You can also buy steel or cast iron gears by Boston Gear to fit this application. Look on Amazon.com for change gear, then narrow your search to .75" bore. They are bit pricey, but then again, they may last a little longer than the Zamac gears.

The 6" Atlas / Craftsman lathes have a 1/2" bore, two keyways, and are 20 DP.
