I see Tony at Lathes.co.uk is looking for info on the screwcutting label. Perhaps you could ask the owner to oblige. (I'm not sure how CL communication works and would probably have to rather pointlessly join a rather distant auction site to do ask myself)

Hey Baz .. no need to join anything. Just click on the contact information and CL forwards
the email to the seller. No joining .. no cost

That's only about 15 miles from me, and I am a member of the Baltimore group. Not the best part of town, but not really terrible, in the "City that Bleeds". It's too big for my needs, but I emailed a friend who has a large shop, although he has limited use for such equipment. I can certainly contact the owner for the information needed, but I need more specifics. Is it just the label on the gear changer?

Tony is soliciting:

"If any reader had advertising material or information relating to any year of Bradford production, the author would be very pleased to hear from them. Also sought: a clear picture of the screwcutting plate from a "Metalmaster" of any year."

Looks like he could use a complete photo spread:

I have sent an email to the seller and await a reply. I could visit him and get info and take pictures if necessary.

I may be thinking about the local "Freecycle" group, where you must select and join one group in order to receive emails.

That looks like a lot of lathe for $800. I am thinking that there is a digit missing from the front of that number.

Hey Guys... I'm local and thinking of buying it, if I can get the guy on PM who I told about it (and thinks it's too far a drive) to take my Clausing instead. Emailed them both this afternoon, and will at the very least pass along to Tony any pics I get.

Btw, there's a much rougher one here in Philly for $1200. Still a good deal, most likely, and I posted a link to it over on PM.

(Which is to say kindly don't bug the guy out of curiosity and drive up the price... :) )

Ah well, looks like it's sold and being picked up Tuesday. Good thing too, as there's no way I could get in my basement. :)

Guess I may as well pass on the link to the other one... http://lancaster.craigslist.org/tls/4188879600.html

It seems to be here in Philadelphia, PA, not Lancaster, and looks a good bit rougher than the other one. Kinda strange that 2 of these turn up on CL at the same time, given how seemingly uncommon they are.

Btw, i just heard back that he's willing to send me a pic of the threading chart when they load it on Tuesday. I'll make sure to pass it along to Tony if/when I get it.

Hey Folks,

Just a quick follow up to say I got the pic of the threading plate and passed it on to Tony. Quite a nice looking lathe... 12 speeds from 40 to 1000rpm, and 72 threads from 1.5 to 368tpi.

Well done on the pictures there. A bit of cooperation like that helps all of 'the brotherhood' in the end.
