I have a couple of stainless steel T-nuts that (IIRC) came with some clamps I ordered from Carr-Lane quite some time ago. I tried to slip it into the slots on my HF 42976 Drilling/Milling machine. It seems to be too thick, and it is larger than the standard size. Here's how they compare, based on http://www.carrlane.com/catalog/index.cfm/27225071F0B221118070C1C512A0A1F0900101B030010543C1 C0C16190D172D252A5E41555E:

Standard Mine
Thread 1/2-13 Same
Slot Width 0.55" Same
Body Width 0.89" Same
Base Height 11/32" = 0.344" 0.41
Total Height 5/8" 0.62
Total Length 1-1/8" 1.13

I have a double cam clamp lever (http://www.carrlane.com/catalog/index.cfm/27825071F0B221118070C1C513E111D081B0006280B1713050 245221E0107070F1A3C3B2853504A5A) with a swing bolt (http://www.carrlane.com/catalog/index.cfm/27825071F0B221118070C1C513E111D081B0006280B1713050 245221E0107070F1A3C3B2853504A59) and a bar-handle nut (http://www.carrlane.com/catalog/index.cfm/27825071F0B221118070C1C513E111D081B0006280B1713050 245221E0107070F1A3C3B2853524659), and two of the T-nuts which seem to be made wrong.

The T-nuts might work if I just mill the flange smaller to fit the slot. Are there non-standard T-nuts like what I have, or are mine just wrong? Originally I thought the mill table was special metric or oddball Chinese, but now it seems the T-nuts are just odd.

think metric.

The table slots could be in metric dimensions, a regular Imperial tee nut wont fit. A Metric tee nut could be made with 1/2"-13 thread, which is one of the standard sizes for tee nuts.
