Does any one have any experience with using a demagnetizer on a digital caliper or any other digital measuring tool. Is it safe to use or will it scramble the electronics.

I doubt that it would scramble the electronics.

I would just close the caliper & demagnetize the metal beam. It should take care of all the metal that way.

I've done it several times. It won't hurt your calipers.
Of course, I did it while they were turned 'OFF'.

Probably safer to take the battery out first.

I had a thread on this just recently, I had wondered the same thing and it occurred to me to just try it on my cheapo HF calipers first since they cost so little nothing would be lost. I plugged in my DE-magnatizer, pulled them across it a couple of times then checked them out, no harm at all done to them. So now I have even done it to my Mitutoyo and Starrett and have done so a bunch of times with the HF cheapies with zero problems. Using the HF cheapos I have run them across with them on and off both with the jaws open and with them closed, apparently it's harmless no matter what.
