Ok not a whole lot of machining but I am converting my mercruiser outdrive boat to a jet drive boat. Letís not make this a debate about why I am doing it. I just am. So my keel is a deep v style keel and the jet pump intake with rounded keel configuration is very hard to come by. Most jets have a very flat keel like my Nordic did and did not need to be rounded like this one. I found a used one but it had a cracked fin or Jaws got at it. Anyway follow along as I repair this casting.

Here is what it looks like when I got it out of the box. Jaws got at it.

I machined a few steps in it so I have more welding surface area. Did not want to just mill it vertical.

Found a piece of ľĒ plate. Yes it has a hole in it. No biggie.

Machine on kill. I needed it near the base of the casting.
