with my lathe, I got (1) tool with a small insert. the insert measures approx. 10mm x 6mm. (diamond shape).
the insert broke. there are no markings on the tool itself. how do I know which is the correct replacement?
Below is the url for inserts that look the same. thanks for helping

There are several diamond shapes,, you might puzzle through this area on Carbide Depot and see if you can sort it out. Diamond inserts can have several tip angles....
http://www.carbidedepot.com/formulas-insert-d.htm Carbide depot has several other areas of technical information that may help as well.

You didn't post a location, it would help others if they new roughly where you are because someone that could help may be near by or know of a supplier that could help you, in your area.

Did the insert that broke have a countersink or straight hole? if you have a caliper, you need to measure the length of the cutting edge or otherwise determine size by virtue of the largest "inscribed circle that fits between the four sides.

A please do edit your settings to add your location!
