Nearly finished drying my kiln bricks- just another 20 or so to go-

As I'm diminishing the pile of wet bricks, I am finding a sort of foam left behind near the next bricks still in the pile. It is so light that I can't feel it at all when I pick it up, and it doesn't have any smell. It forms only adjacent to a still-wet brick, in the moisture left on the concrete floor by the previous bricks. It's not on any of the bricks- just near them. Takes about a day to develop after I've exposed some floor by bringing bricks up into the oven to dry.

Odd stuff- you can see it but not feel it or smell it, and there's no visible residue when you roll it in your fingers. Seems like it's coming into existence simply because conditions are just right for it. Of course having watched Star Trek for so many years I might be predisposed to thinking that I've got a new life form here :)

It's obviously the Devil in the Dark! Don't use a phaser on it.

It's a Horta. Raise them and sell them to the tunneling companies.

I saw a guy using this stuff on utube, looks like a mixture of smoke and syrup. What is it?

I've seen it handled it but can't quite get my head round it, we had sheets of it in the lab to tinker with, the thought was how good would it be when exposed to very high temps, too expensive in the end
Block of smoke is about right
